Ethiopian Women’s Development Organization (EWDO) Organizational Profile The Ethiopian Women’s Development Organization (EWDO) was established in November 2023 with a mission to advance gender equality, women’s rights, and social transformation in Ethiopia. Founded by experienced women professionals in gender advocacy, EWDO works to bridge the digital gender gap, combat gender-based violence (GBV), and promote sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR).
We strive to bridge the digital divide and empower women and girls in Ethiopia by enhancing their equal participation in the digital technology sphere. Our work focuses on increasing access to and utilization of digital technologies, combating online violence, and advocating for policies that promote gender justice.
We achieve this through evidence-based advocacy, strategic partnerships with governmental and non-governmental organizations, and a commitment to digital literacy and skill development.
EWDO envisions a future where women and girls have equal opportunities in the digital world, contributing to a more equitable and prosperous Ethiopia. Our core values of equality, inclusiveness, transparency, and integrity guide all our actions as we work towards a brighter future for Ethiopian women.
